Britannia Panopticon

Glasgow

The World's oldest surviving music hall where Stan Laurel made his stage debut in 1906 aged only 16. Today the Britannia Panopticon Music Hall is an ongoing conservation project which was begun in 1997 and everything we do in the auditorium is to ensure the continuation of that project and the future of the music hall. The Britannia Panopticon is is not like a modern auditorium. Our facilities are basic, although there is a place for performers to change and comfortable seating for audiences of up to 100. There is a licensed bar, toilets and an historic stage. There is currently no disabled access and the entrance in the lane called New Wynd. Look for Mrs Mitchell's Sweet Shop on the corner of Trongate and New Wynd.

Venue Accessibility includes:

Assist Dogs Allowed

We are an ongoing conservation project and do not have a lift. We hope to have a stair climber in spring 2025. There are no disabled toilets.
