GICF 2018 ART SHOW: CALL FOR ARTISTS & COMEDIANS
The Glasgow International Comedy Festival are teaming up with our friends at Art Pistol to put together a specially curated series of works celebrating Scottish comedy!
This is an open call for artists to submit artwork for inclusion in an exhibition celebrating some of Scotland's favourite comics, renowned patter and turn of phrase. Your work will sit alongside that of some very specially invited artists!
There is also the chance for comedians themselves to submit! The gallery will display a collection of notebook scraps, doodles and one liners, giving a unique look into the world and writing process of a stand up comedian. All works will be up for sale, with the proceeds going to our chosen charity MND Scotland.
This is an exhibition with a real difference, which will run throughout the Glasgow International Comedy Festival (8-25th March 2018) and will coincide with a very special month of activity at the Art Pistol gallery in West end of the city.

- CALL FOR ARTISTS -
Paint / draw / create something that captures one of Scotland's favourite comics (past or present) in a special and unmistakable way; or use the renowned Scottish patter and turn of phrase to create some that screams for attention. Nothing is off limits as we want this to capture what the Glasgow International Comedy Festival is all about!
- CALL FOR COMICS -
We're looking for pages torn from your notebooks, doodles on napkins, one liners scribbled across old train tickets, basically anything written or drawn that will give folks a small insight into your world or process, and nothing is off limits here!
We're then going to put these on display as part of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival Art Show at the Art Pistol gallery and put them up for sale with all proceeds going to MND (Motor Neurone Disease) Scotland.
