You may have seen an improv comedy show before. If it was in the UK, chances are it was a “Whose Line Is It Anyway” style collection of quick, flash-in-the-pan games.
A different style of improv comedy has been surging in popularity in the USA, which builds and weaves sketches, all from a single audience suggestion. This style of improv has grown out of theatres such as Amy Poehler’s Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) in New York and Los Angeles, and has given birth to many of the world’s top alternative comedians and improvisers.
Glasgow Harold Night is a monthly improv comedy night that follows the UCB approach, specifically the popular “Harold” format, and has been gaining a following since being founded in 2016. This is an improv show that you haven’t seen before. Glasgow Harold Night will make its debut at the Glasgow Comedy Festival on March 14th.
Featuring some of the best improvisers in the country, two teams will each skillfully build a hilarious show right in front of your eyes that has never been seen before, and will never be seen again!
