In naming The Best of Irish Comedy showcase we have performed a
master class in literalism. Our annual Best of night is so-named
because in the form of comedians like Jason Byrne, Owen O'Neill,
Ed Byrne and Andrew Maxwell, and others we have the best Irish
comedians, bar-none, at The Stand. Simple, eh?... |

As ever, and like an insanely fussy Man From Delmonte (or Tipperary) all
our bills are handpicked to ensure that the audience are guaranteed the
highest quality comedy. In this case we're importing the finest comedy
oranges from across the Irish Channel to perform at the heart of the
Fringe, every night of the Fringe.
Previously, Best of Irish has seen some of Ireland's finest exports make
a rare return to the live stage. Major names that have stepped up to
represent their country include Black Books legend Dylan Moran
and Mock The Week and Have I Got News For You host Dara O'Briain.
Best of Irish is simply a Fringe must-do. After eight years of sell-out
shows, the unique mix of banter, patter and the sharpest wits around
means there's no better Craic to be found.
This is even without mentioning our Emerald Island residents who'll be
performing their own solo shows at The Stand during the Fringe David
O'Doherty, Kevin Gildea, Karl Spain et al are the
latest in a very long line of blarney-meisters to visit us and
deservedly reap vast plaudits.
Joining them will be the cream of the crop from the Dublin circuit. All
year round we keep our ear to the ground so we can handpick the hottest
newcomers generating the biggest buzz in one of comedy's top breeding
grounds. 'I saw them first' bragging rights are guaranteed.
Certified legends, Fringe heroes and the young pretenders to the comedy
throne all on one great bill for a paltry £9? When other venues across
the Fringe will merrily charge you up to £15 for their equivalent? Who
said Ireland has got more expensive since the Euro?
Best of Irish is an annual sell-out, so book early to avoid
disappointment. If you miss out, you'll be green with envy...
